(Because I forgot to last night, and am now midway through Day 3 of that writing marathon that DareNotSpeakItsName): 3681.
There were several hundred additional words, but I broke the “no editing” rule, because it doesn’t work for me; I must know that what I’ve built so far can sustain the next layer of narrative, so I have to fix structural problems as I go.
On Sunday I gave a sample phrase from the story (still Poplar Springs); right now, I’m too tired for that, so I’ll provide four headings that presently appear in the draft:
- Scared Shitless in Seattle
- Throw Her to the Wall and See if She Sticks
- Pieces of Africa
- Blood Culture
And that’s your cryptic update, which is likely to seem entirely nonsensical as I am, in essence, writing this in my sleep (what, huh? WHO ARE you people?Zzzzz).
