I have 2 questions. Please reply to @favstar on twitter, or reblog if you want.1) I understand your point. I’d like to ask though - have you tried Favit and seen how easy it is to see who made the tweet?
Don’t have an iPhone, so it’s not an option for me. If it were available as an app for BlackBerry (hahaha yeah right), I’d gladly give it a try. That it’s easy to find out who made the the tweet isn’t contested (by me, at least) - my analogy earlier was that I wouldn’t want the spines of my books to lack the names of their authors (extending that analogy further, it would of course be “easy” to pull any given book off my shelf, examine its cover, and see the name of the author).
2) How strongly do you feel about this issue? 1 being ‘just thought I’d mention it’, and 10 being ‘I hate it so much I don’t want my tweets in Favit’.
If there were something lower than ‘1,’ that’s how strongly I’d feel about it. As I said earlier, I get why people might want something like this. It doesn’t appeal to me for reasons already stated, but if it works for others (especially as it seems from the above that you may accommodate persons who may wish to have their tweets blocked within Favit), then I sincerely think that’s just great.
You’ve done a creative thing that interacts in a unique way (problematic for some, favorably - as it were! - for others) with Twitter users’ creative output. That it wouldn’t work for me (even if it were available as an application for my device) is not at all a condemnation of your work. Carry on.
